Oneonta Christian Academy will hold a special event on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 to celebrate
National School Choice Week.
From 8:45AM-9:30AM on January 29th our students will be sharing why school choice is important and why they appreciate the opportunity to attend Oneonta Christian Academy. There will be songs, dances, skits, videos etc. Younger student will be writing short essays about school and why they enjoy attending. Other special field trips will be scheduled and highlighted as well. Event highlights will be posted on a student designed webpage. The event will be held at the school.

UpClose Cardiac SurgeryIn Celebration of School Choice Week students participated in Bassett Hospital's UpClose Cardiac Surgery field trip.
For several years, Bassett's Cardiac Surgery team has presented the UpClose Cardiac Surgery program to teach area students about the importance of regular exercise, avoidance of tobacco use and choosing healthy lifestyle habits that could help prevent heart disease later in life. Our unique approach to educating teenagers about healthy lifestyles has been tremendously popular with over three dozen schools enrolled in the program. The students come to Bassett in Cooperstown where they engage in a discussion of practical ways to live heart healthy lives and they watch open heart surgery. |

Students in grades 2-3 put together thank you letters to parents for the opportunity to attend LCA. Students in grades 4-6 wrote short essays on what they enjoy about LCA and why they attend.
